Literature Text

The time of the year that reminds me that I'm still alive
Memories swerve past every recognizable corner of summer's past
The morning dew ripens as I awake from tossing and turning,
To watch the sunrise
A poetic quote in the sky saying you have the whole day ahead of you
Don't worry
The raindrops falling the morning after just to feel the same
Only to find another lovely feeling
The only time abandonment feels like you're on top of the world
As you sit on your front porch
A dark sky, unable to tell whether morning or early afternoon
Raindrops falling off the panels on your roof
The only sound you hear,
Knowing that you're the first to be alive that day
Making you want to just embrace the moment
As if time just froze a moment for you
The one time comes
That makes you embrace your religion
Faith in the creator is the only hope you have
As the weather tosses and turns
Churns the waves in the sky
A nightmare come to life...
Unable to control
But will grant us a better life once lived
For as it also had always brought us life
In which we took for granted
To only grant ourselves gratitude
For what has been given to us
Belated Earth Day present
